Supporting Malagasy conservation narratives through storytelling, art-based environmental education, and community-led conservation.
In Ranomafana, Madagascar, our partner oloNala supports grassroots community organizations, artists, and educators in building their own conservation narrative through storytelling, art-based environmental education, and community-led conservation. Some of this work has involved:
-
The creation of a nature journaling program at the Ranomafana Nature Center, where students are encouraged to explore their surroundings through a creative lens
-
Supporting grassroots collective VOI Mitsinjo in building a regenerative ecotourism model of their own design
-
Building Madagascar's first art residency program for Malagasy artists working at the intersection of conservation and the arts
-
Supporting women's collective Tanamasoandro
